Full biography

Christopher Harrison, known professionally as Simpleton, was a Jamaican dancehall deejay whose style helped define the rough-edged, playful sound of early-to-mid-1990s dancehall. He is best remembered for his 1992 hit single "Coca Cola Shape."

His catalogue leaned on witty phrasing, everyday storytelling, and catchy one-liners, balancing toughness with humor across tracks such as "Action Speaks Louder Than Words," "Stay Pon Guard," and "Need A Little Magic In Your Life."

Simpleton died on November 7, 2004, in Kingston, at around age 33, after suffering a heart attack; he reportedly had a history of high blood pressure and collapsed before being rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
