Full biography

Wayne Parkinson, known professionally as Baby Wayne, was a Jamaican dancehall artist from St. Catherine, Jamaica, active primarily during the 1990s. He initially built his name on conscientious lyrics warning against a life of crime, a stance that was unusual within dancehall at the time, though he later recorded material that made concessions to the slackness popular with contemporary audiences.

He worked with the noted production duo Steely & Clevie in the early 1990s, scoring a hit in 1991 with "Mama."

Baby Wayne died on October 28, 2005, at age 35. Further biographical detail beyond his recording career is limited in available sources.
