Zumjay

Rohan Stephens, known professionally as Zumjay, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay born and raised in the Waterhouse district of Kingston. He began his career as an apprentice engineer at Donovan Germain's Penthouse Studios before becoming a recording artist himself around 1998.

He found success in 2000 with "Courtney," a tribute to West Indian cricketer Courtney Walsh, followed by other singles including "Shake It," "Sticky," and "Dancing Team." Beyond performing at Jamaica's major reggae festivals, Sunsplash and Sting, Zumjay toured Europe in 2004 and again in 2005 alongside fellow deejay Alozade.

Zumjay married Aviesha Palmer in 2006 and emigrated to the United States in 2007, where he joined the US Army Reserves while also pursuing a degree in Video Arts Technology, a career path that marked a shift away from full-time music.
