Nyla

Nailah Thorbourne, known professionally as Nyla, was born on 27 November 1983 in Kingston, Jamaica. She first gained recognition as a member of Brick & Lace, an R&B and reggae vocal group formed with her sisters, whose debut album Love Is Wicked was released by Geffen and Akon's KonLive label in 2007 and produced the chart-topping single "Love Is Wicked."

As a solo artist, Nyla is best known for her featured vocals on Major Lazer's "Light It Up," a track that brought her to a wider international audience beyond her earlier group work.

She has continued to write and record as a solo artist, collaborating with a range of chart-topping producers and artists in the years since. Documentation of her more recent releases beyond these highlights is limited in publicly available sources.
