Indecka

Chevol Grant, known professionally as Indecka, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer and songwriter from Kingston who has been active since 2003 and is a follower of the Rastafari faith. He was raised by his grandmother in Kingston, began singing at age five, and started writing poetry around age fifteen before setting his words to melody.

In 2002 he connected with producer Michael "Jah Mikes" Bell of Yahbell Entertainment and soon after recorded his first song, "Always Be There." He went on to record for other producers, including Jami Dread of the Austria-based Lyrical Wars Records, and from 2008 worked with producer/engineer Julius "Zege" Mitchell of Sweat Boxx Productions in Portmore, St. Catherine, during which period he began performing on stage shows including the annual Sting festival in 2009.

His recorded output includes songs such as "Rice and Peas," "Jah Protect Me," and "The Summer Is on Again," spanning reggae and dancehall styles. Documentation of Indecka's career beyond these details is limited; he remains a lesser-known figure relative to his contemporaries.
