Demarco

Demarco, born Collin Demar Edwards on September 28, 1982, in Portmore, St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica, began performing at Cactus nightclub at age 15 and worked as a selector for the Future Disco sound system. At 16 he relocated to the United States, working to fund his growing interest in music production before returning to launch his recording career in the 2000s.

He built his reputation on hit singles including "Duppy Know Ah Who Fi Frighten," "Fallen Soldiers" (from his debut album, The Book of Demarco), "True Friend," and "Show It (So Sexy)," while also working behind the boards producing riddims and recording collaborations with artists such as Bounty Killer and Elephant Man. In May 2017 he signed with Akon's EnTREEGRECORDS/KONLIVE label and relocated to Georgia in the United States.

His recorded output includes the EP 2020 Vision (2019) and the album Melody (2021), which featured Sean Paul, Spice, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Shaggy, along with self-produced riddims including Top Speed, Big League, and Stress Free. He was nominated for the Urban Music Award for Best Reggae Act in 2013 and 2014, and for male deejay of the year in the UK for the track "Good Book."
